“My Child Doesn’t Like to Eat!”
Please join us for an evening with Dr. Timothy Sentongo. This talk will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of what constitutes a pediatric feeding disorder. The talk will discuss the gastrointestinal evaluation and medical management of pediatric feeding disorders and describe treatment from the perspective of a gastroenterologist. Special emphasis will be placed on the use of diagnostic testing and collaboration between the gastroenterologist and feeding therapist.
Dr. Timothy Sentongo is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Chicago. He is also the director of Pediatric Nutrition Support Service, and Pediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Comer Children’s Hospital. He is a member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and serves as the Chairman of the Nutrition Committee. Dr. Sentongo is also a member of the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N) and serves as the co-editor of the A.S.P.E.N clinical guidelines. Dr. Sentongo’s research interests include intestinal failure, nutrition support, nutritional deficiencies, allergic bowel disorders and growth outcomes in children with chronic gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Sentongo has published over 40 articles and several chapters focused on growth and nutrition assessment, micronutrient deficiencies, eosinophilic esophagitis and outcomes of nutritional therapies.
